Memberships

What type of memberships do you offer?

There are four (4) types of memberships:

  • Regular: Licensed physicians in California.
  • Associate: Medical students and retired physicians.
  • Affiliate: Pre-med students and healthcare professionals (Nurses, Dentists, etc).
  • Auxiliary: Supporters in non-medical fields.
How much are membership fees?
  • Regular $100
  • Associate $80
  • Affiliate $50
  • Auxiliary $50
Do I have to be Filipino-American to apply?

No. You do not have to be Filipino-American for Associate, Affiliate, or Auxiliary memberships. Our Regular membership level is reserved for physicians of Filipino ethnicity.

I am not a California resident, can I still apply?

We prefer members to live near the San Francisco Bay Area to encourage participation, but we accept non-residents based on their commitment to the society.

Medical Missions

Do I have to be a member in order to volunteer?

No. We accept volunteers who are not members of PMSNC.

How much does it cost to join the medical mission?
  • Health Professionals (Special Permit): $300
  • Current APL Holders: $250
  • Pre-medical Students: $150
  • All other volunteers: $200

Note: Online payments incur a $15 processing fee. Fees cover admin costs only; volunteers pay for their own flights and lodging.

How long is the mission and where is it held?

Missions last one week (5 clinic days, Monday–Friday). They are held once a year, usually in the third week of January, exclusively in the Philippines.
